Virtual Imaging Optimizes Capital Expenditures with RadPRO® and Canon Digital Radiography Solutions |
DEERFIELD BEACH, FL – Continuing its mission to provide cost-effective solutions that meet the needs of its customers; Virtual Imaging, Inc. highlights the economical benefits from optimizing restricted capital funding with the latest installation of digital radiography (DR) solutions from the RadPRO® and Canon product lines.
In today’s financial climate of regulated capital spending, improving patient care and productivity are essential components in addressing healthcare priorities. Administrators, at Jupiter Medical Center’s Imaging Department selected to install the Canon DR system, as well as the RadPRO® 40KW Digital Mobile and the RadPRO ® OT-2 overhead radiography system, to help achieve financial and healthcare objectives by streamlining various work-flow segments associated with traditional diagnostic procedures.
The benefits from converting this vital area to DR utilizing the RadPRO® and Canon digital technology provide measurable results throughout the department’s operations. As a result of the installation, the facility was able to enhance throughput by decreasing patient waiting time due to the system’s ability to instantly provide X-ray images for diagnosis via PACS. In comparison to the previous analog systems, these high-quality, cost-effective radiographic solutions help optimize capital spending by extending the equipment’s life cycle, improving productivity, enhancing patient care, reducing material waste and overall saving money.
The effects from the replacement of the analog equipment with the state-of-the-art DR solutions from the RadPRO ® and Canon product lines has enabled hospital personnel to enhance patient care and workflow with the fast imaging times that quickly confirms patient positioning and relevant anatomy. This powerful combination of DR equipment also provides virtually seamless network integration and rapid transfer of high-quality X-ray images for diagnosis from challenging traumas to bedside exams, helping to reduce the department’s turnaround time.
Despite, severely restricted capital funding, hospital administrators continue to focus on the upgrade path to DR due to the technology’s capabilities, durability and user-friendly applications and software. According to Bill Harders, Director of Imaging at Jupiter Medical Center, “We are extremely satisfied with the overall results, such as the greatly improved patient care and productivity, and regardless of the strict budget constraints, we would like to continue with the upgrade path to DR throughout the rest of the Imaging Department.”
